Artist of the Month at NACC
Artist STORY
Robyn Scott is a Yellowknife artist, educator, and community arts organizer. Her original artwork, featuring representational subjects combined with abstract backgrounds, uses vivid colors and textures to capture the rugged beauty of life in Northern Canada.
In addition to her painting, Robyn is a high school art teacher who loves to share her passion for create expression with youth and adults through painting workshops in the community. She is also president of NorthWords NWT, a non-profit writers society, that supports and promotes NWT authors and literary culture in the north. You can often find her on stages in Yellowknife hosting spoken word open mic events and organizing writers workshops.
Originally from the Maritime provinces, she has called Yellowknife for nearly 20 years. She is grateful to live, work, and raise her family as a settler on the traditional territories of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation and the North Slave Métis.
Robyn’s work will be display and for sale at NACC for the month of May 2025.
